Indian country
The territory tormerly held by Indians and to which their title remains unextinguished, also any tract of land, which, being a part of the public domain, is lawfully set apart as an Indian reservation, and also any Indian allotment, the title of which is held in trust by the government or which remains inalienable by the allottee without the consent of the United States. 27 Am J1st Indians § 45.
