United States Supreme Court

The highest of the courts of the federal court system, established by the Constitution of the United States, and having both original and appellate jurisdiction. US Const Art 3; 20 Am J2d Cis §§ 6, 9. Occupying a singular position within the dual system of federal and state jurisdiction to the extent that certain decisions of the highest court of a state are reviewable and may be set aside by it. 20 Am J2d Cts § 9.
