- The ordinary bank of deposit and discount, with checking accounts, as distinguished from a savings bank operating on the mutual system in which the depositors are entitled to receive the profits of the business as dividends and in which withdrawal of a deposit is made only by presentation of the customer's passbook by him at the bank, no provision being made for checking against an account. 10 Am J2d Banks § 4.
