fraternal order or society

An organization of men created and maintained for the improvement of its members by instruction through rituals and lectures in the principles of true brotherhood, real charity, and loyalty to country, for fellowship, and for aiding the widows and orphans of members, often by providing mutual benefit or fraternal insurance.
